    Catania Airport

Catania Airport located 5 km south of Catania, is also named Aeroporto Vincenzo Bellini in honour of the great opera composer.

Catania is a busy airport with many national and international flights arriving daily.

We always suggest that guests should arrive at the airport at least two hours before their flight, especially in the summer when there can be longer queues.

Catania airport has a wide range of facilities including shops, restaurants and a Duty free area. Passengers can easily spend time after security checks buying souvenirs or having a snack. There is also free WiFi available.

    Airport Assistance

Special Assistance is available at Catania airport. If you need this service, please contact your air company before your departure. This must take place at least 48 hours before travelling. Your airline will then pass on your request to Catania Airport. This service is free of charge and is available to all those who need it.

When arriving at the airport, inform the staff who will take you to the Assistance Lounge in Departures where you will be assisted until take-off.

    Airport Transfers

We would be happy to help you organise an airport transfer to and from your villa. This is a great way to avoid any stress at your time of arrival and departure.

Your driver will be waiting and will whisk you and your party to your destination. It's really that simple!

Take a look at our Airport Transfers and start planning your journey. All the information you need, including prices, is readily available.

    Airport Buses

There are several bus routes from the airport that run daily. The bus terminal is outside Arrivals terminal.

The AMT Alibus 457 runs every 20 minutes from 5:00 am to midnight to Catania central station.

There are also regular buses to other Sicilian towns such as Taormina, Siracusa, Messina, Enna, and Ragusa. These are organised by various Sicilian companies.

To see up to date timetables and weigh up your options, you can always visit our Trains & Buses page where you can search for all available public transport options.

    Airport Taxis

City taxis that take you to and from the airport are available, but for longer journeys we suggest arranging a private transfer in order to enjoy greater comfort and better prices.

The taxi rank at Catania Airport is just outside Arrivals on the main level.

A one-way trip to Catania city centre costs between €25 and €28, whilst longer journeys have varied prices according to the destination.

Taxis run 24/7 at Catania airport and so there should always be a vehicle available upon arrival.

    Lost Luggage

In the unfortunate case your luggage gets lost, you should go to the Lost & Found office as soon as possible, especially in high season when queues can be very long. .

You will have to fill in a form at the Lost & Found desk, with details about your luggage and your contact details.

When your bags are found, you can either choose to go and collect the luggage at the airport yourself, or have the airport staff deliver it to the address you have provided. If you are staying not too far from the airport, we recommend you go and pick the luggage up yourself, as opposed to waiting for the delivery company to come to you, given that this might take up to 72h and they do not always provide a specific delivery time. If you choose the first option you will have to pick up the luggage during the Lost & Found opening times and pass controls, so please make sure to bring your copy of the claim form and your passport.

Guests who have booked with Villatravellers can always contact Villatravellers staff for extra assistance.
